Executive Committees

Political party executive committees are elected every fourth year at the Primary Election according to the procedures and requirements listed in W. Va. Code § 3-1-9. The current executive committee membership list and information regarding executive committee vacancies can be found below.

Executive Committee Membership Lists

Executive committee membership lists are available upon request to Nathan Martin at NMartin@wvsos.com or Elections@wvsos.com. There is no charge and the lists are available electronically. Executive committee membership lists include each member's name, full address, employer, telephone number and term information.

Under W. Va. Code 3-1-9(g), a current listing of all executive committees’ members shall be filed with the Secretary of State by the end of July of each year. Vacancies in any executive committee shall be filled by the appropriate executive committee as provided in W. Va. Code § 3-1-9(f) no later than sixty days after the vacancy occurs.

The chair of each executive committee shall submit an updated committee list to the Secretary of State within ten days of a change occurring. If an updated committee list is not submitted within ten days of an appointment, the appointment is not valid by law.

Vacancies for executive committee members that are on the ballot after the filing period closes, as well as vacancies that exist after the members are elected, may be filled by the appropriate executive committee pursuant to the provisions of W. Va. Code § 3-1-9.
