Corporations, Limited Partnerships, Voluntary Associations, and Business Trusts

The Secretary of State encourages business owners to take advantage of filing their company’s annual report through the West Virginia One Stop Business Portal. Online filing saves time and provides immediate and accurate integration of customers’ updates into the Secretary of State’s database. You also receive an electronic confirmation when any business filing is approved by our office.

Annual Reports are required for all active corporations, including nonprofits, limited partnerships, voluntary associations, and business trusts formed on or before December 31 of the previous year which have not applied for dissolution or withdrawal.

Annual Report notifications are mailed or emailed by Secretary of State's office in January each year.

The Annual Report requires update of officers, members, partners, directors, addresses, agent for service of process, and other important information deemed necessary by the Secretary of State.
