Typical Non-Compliant Exterior Issues at Polling Sites and Possible Solutions
- Grass or gravel parking can use temporary access mats or other types of stable covering that are ½" thick or less.
- No curb access? Search for a curb ramp.
- Heavy doors or a ramp without a landing? Consider using a bell call system or temporary doorbell marked with an accessible sign.
- Threshold at door is over ½" high? Search for a threshold plate or threshold mat.
- Door knobs that require twisting of the wrist or pinching? Search for door knob extenders or door knob grippers with levers to modify the entrance.
- Uncertain of ramp slope measurements? Consider purchasing a digital level.
