Charleston, W.Va. – WV Secretary of State Kris Warner issued the following message to business owners across central West Virginia. The email was distributed to businesses in 12 counties in an effort to provide assistance and resources for residents, communities, and business owners affected by recent flooding.
Dear West Virginia Business Owners,
Catastrophic flooding has devastated portions of Lewis and Upshur Counties, causing widespread damage to homes, businesses, and critical infrastructure. After witnessing the destruction firsthand, I respectfully ask my fellow West Virginians to consider supporting the residents, communities, and business owners affected by this disaster.
Many families have been displaced, and local businesses have suffered extensive losses. Business owners now face the difficult task of cleaning up, rebuilding, and restoring their livelihoods while many residents work to recover from the loss of their homes and personal property.
There is an immediate need for qualified contractors, skilled tradespeople, equipment, supplies, and volunteers to assist with cleanup and rebuilding efforts. Any resources, services, financial support, or other assistance your business or organization is able to donate would be sincerely appreciated by the affected communities.
