About the Role
Are you a friendly, positive professional who enjoys helping others? The West Virginia Secretary of State's Business Division is looking for a dedicated Business Specialist to join our dynamic team! In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for our state's business community, providing expert guidance on filing and processing business organization applications both online and by mail.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a front-line customer service expert in our Call Center, offering clear and friendly assistance to every caller.
- Process and manage a variety of business filings with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist walk-in customers personally to ensure their filing needs are met professionally.
- Troubleshoot and provide technical support for our online filing systems.
- Participate in cross-training initiatives to master all functions within the Business Division.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the West Virginia Code as it relates to business organizations.
- Represent the office at Business Division Outreach Events to engage with the community.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: College degree preferred, but a High School Diploma may be acceptable with sufficient experience. Previous communication experience that highlights interaction with the public is required. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must have outstanding people skills and combine accuracy, consistency, and strong attention to detail to deliver excellent results. Must have excellent problem-solving and verbal and written communication skills. Must have computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office and proficiency with web-based applications.
