CHARLESTON, W.Va. - On Thursday, November 2nd, Secretary of State Mac Warner will participate in a national “Twitter Chat” hosted by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to help celebrate National Veterans Small Business Week.
The “chat” is titled “Business Tips for Veteran Entrepreneurs." It is open to the public.
Warner, a 1977 graduate of West Point and a 23-year veteran of the United States Army, said he is encouraging other veterans to join him. The “chat” will begin at 3 p.m. and will last about 45 minutes.
“Veterans Small Business Week is an opportunity for the Secretary of State’s Office to help focus attention on business development in West Virginia among those men and women who served our country,” Warner said.
“The Twitter chat is just one way to get the word out. With support from the Legislature, we offer special programs year round for veterans who want to start a new business in West Virginia.”
The Secretary of State’s “Boots to Business” waiver is especially designed to assist veteran-owned businesses. Additional programs and incentives can be found at www.wvsos.gov
