 Secretary of State's Office Announces Three Counties See Most New Business Growth in July

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Three counties saw the most growth in business registrations for July according to the West Virginia Secretary of State’s Office.

The Secretary of State’s Business & Licensing Division reported that the top three counties are Monongalia County with 77 new business registrations, Kanawha County with 61, and Berkeley County with 56.

According to the WVSOS Business Statistics Database (BSD), 694 new businesses were incorporated or started in the state during the month of July 2017.

“Here in the Secretary of State’s Office, we mean business when it comes to helping entrepreneurs and companies start their businesses in West Virginia,” said Secretary of State Mac Warner. “We want to encourage and make it easy to register new businesses right here in the Mountain State.”

According to the Business & Licensing Division, a total of 1,002 new or foreign businesses registered to do business in West Virginia in the month of July. Since Warner took office on January 16th, a total of 7,365 new business entities have registered with the Secretary of State’s Office.
